This program will provide estate planning professionals with fundamental tools for identifying a client’s intellectual property assets; for distinguishing among the various types of intellectual property; for recognizing that each needs to be treated very differently; for distinguishing copyrights and copies as distinct assets of the estate; for understanding the various methods and requirements for transfer of IP ownership; and for appreciating the copyright termination right as a vitally important consideration in the estate planning process.
